Bell Gatha
First sounding of the resounding bell, the precious verse is chanted,
emerging up to heaven and descending through hell.
May all beings born in the four ways within the three spheres be free of rebirth.
May the nine kinds of hell-beings and ten types of beings all leave the sea of suffering.
May all weather elements be favorable.
May all farm fields be free from famine and enjoy bountiful harvest.
May all war cease and amour horses expedition stop.
May all who die at war, be reborn in pure land.
May all beings that fly and walk on earth never encounter any trap nets.
May all travelers and lone merchant return home soon.
Boundless world, as long as the earth and sky,
May all donors of far and near be prosperous and enjoy longevity
May the Buddha Dharma flourish everywhere.
May Dharma protectors and Nagas, support the Sangha and protect the Dharma.
May all parents, teacher, relatives, friends and all lineage ancestors,
cross the sea of suffering to reach the other shore.
