Imee Ooi

Imee Ooi is a music producer, composer, arranger and vocalist who produces chants Buddhist mantras and dharanis (typically from the Sanskrit, Pali, Tibetan or Mandarin language). She is also the musical director and composer of three highly-acclaimed stage musicals, Siddhartha,Above Full Moon and The Perfect Circle.Imee Ooi established I.M.M Musicworks in 1997 and has released 22 albums to date. She is a classical pianist by training.Her latest musical entitled Jewel of Tibet is to be stage in March 08′.

“Jewel of Tibet” is a musical extravaganza about the story of Princess Wenchang’s journey from China to Tibet more than a thousand years ago to marry King Songsten Gampo. Crossing deserts, hailstorms, and snow-capped mountains, she brought the peaceful teachings of Buddhism to Tibet. With her gentleness, wisdom and compassion, she captured the hearts of many in the land of snows. And she has left behind her legacy in the world famous Potala Palace in Lhasa..
